I was going to just leave a three-star rating and no comment, but since I see that this store now replied and is essentially inventing another story, let me explain my experience there (and reduce my rating further). Perhaps this store knows something about watches, but I found they were rude and unprofessional: I came in to replace the scratched glass on a Baume & Mercier from the 1950s, a simple repair. However, the technician first took my watch, put it on the measuring device and said it that the mechanism was not functioning properly and that I could have a free estimate to see how much it would cost to fix it. I said yes, but when they did the estimate they opened the back of the watch, which apparently, according to them, was glued on. After three weeks they sent me an estimate that said the watch was running 4 seconds late and would cost 550 euros to repair. I said, no thank you, but they kept saying that the watch mechanism needs to be retuned and replaced. I thought about it, but had to do some research which involved going to the previous store it had been serviced etc. to find out if it really needed these repairs. After a few weeks, I found out that the watch did not need repairs, that a delay of 4 seconds was normal, and they were simply pressuring me to pay them for relatively useless repair. However, when I came back, they had replaced the glass anyways and then refused to reattach/close the back of the watch that they had opened for the estimate. Essentially they fixed the glass, took my money, and left me with a destroyed watch. I took it to another professional watch repairer who said that the watch no longer closed (it perhaps was this way before) but to fix the threads on the closure on a gold watch would cost thousands of euros, more than what the watch was worth. He was kind enough to glue the back onto the watch again, though it is not a permanent fix. In short, this store basically destroyed my watch to try to pressure me into unnecessary repairs. Moreover, the technicians are rude. There are many more professional and kinder watch repairers in the city.
